The eighteenth season of Saturday Night Live began on September 26, 1992 and ended on May 15, 1993. This was the final season for Dana Carvey, Chris Rock, and Robert Smigel. The season is most remembered for its second episode, in which musical guest Sinead O'Connor tore up a photo of the pope during her second musical number, a stunt that got her banned from SNL.
