Sir James Paul McCartney, MBE, Hon RAM, FRCM (born June 18, 1942), is an English musician, singer, songwriter and composer who gained worldwide fame as a member of The Beatles from 1960 to 1970 and became a member of the band Wings with his wife Linda McCartney after the Beatles' break-up.
He appeared on Saturday Night Live as a musical guest on May 17, 1980 where he performed "All-Night Television" and "Coming Up" (which was also featured as the world premiere and became a rare instance of a music video airing on SNL), on February 13, 1993 where he performed "Get Out of My Way," "Biker Like an Icon" and The Beatles song "Hey Jude," on December 11, 2010 where he performed "Jet," "Band on the Run," a medley of "A Day in the Life" and "Give Peace a Chance" and "Get Back" as an encore replacing the extended goodnights and also appeared in the opening monologue, the SNL Digital Short and in the Weekend Update segment, and on December 15, 2012 where he performed "My Valentine," "Cut Me Some Slack" and "Wonderful Christmastime" and also appeared in the "Pageant Audition" sketch.
He was also impersonated by Bill Murray on the October 7, 1978 episode during the "A Framework for the Reunion of The Beatles" sketch, by Dana Carvey on the October 15, 1988 episode during the "The Five Beatles" sketch, on the December 8, 1990 episode during the "The Global Warming Christmas Special" sketch and on the February 23, 1991 episode during the "The Sinead O'Connor Awards" sketch and by Alan Cumming on the February 5, 2000 episode during the "Fried Chicken Fields Forever" sketch.
