Patrick "Pat" Buchanan (born November 2, 1938) is an American conservative political commentator, author, syndicated columnist, politician and broadcaster who was a senior advisor to U.S. presidents Richard Nixon, Gerald Ford and Ronald Reagan and is best known for being an original host of the CNN current events debate television program Crossfire and currently being a regular on the syndicated half-hour weekly public affairs television program The McLaughlin Group.

Although he has never been on Saturday Night Live, he has been impersonated by Phil Hartman four times from December 1, 1990 to March 21, 1992, which were all during the "The McLaughlin Group" sketch, by Mark McKinney on December 2, 1995 during the "Inside Politics" sketch, by David Koechner thrice from February 17, 1996 to April 13, 1996 and by Chris Parnell on October 2, 1999 during the "Reform Party Headquarters" sketch.
