The 5th episode of Season 18 and the 331st episode of Saturday Night Live premiered on October 31, 1992, hosted by Canadian-American actress and comedian Catherine O'Hara, star of the former sketch comedy series SCTV and the Canadian television sitcom Schitt's Creek and the hit films After Hours, Beetlejuice, The Nightmare Before Christmas, Home Alone and the 1992 hit sequel Home Alone 2: Lost in New York, with musical guest 10,000 Maniacs, an alternative rock band. This is Catherine O'Hara’s 2nd time as host and the 2nd musical guest stint for 10,000 Maniacs on the show.
