The 814th episode and 6th episode of Saturday Night Live's 42nd season premiered on November 12, 2016. It was hosted by stand-up comedian and actor Dave Chappelle with hip hop group A Tribe Called Quest as the musical guest. This is the first post-election episode in the show's history, and it was the weekend following the 2016 U.S. Presidential Election. This is the hosting debut for Chappelle and the only musical guest appearance on SNL for A Tribe Called Quest.
Chappelle's long goodnights speech is: "Well I Would Like to Thank the Cast and the Crew of Saturday Night Live and Lorne Michaels for Having Me. (cheers and applause) I Would Like to Thank to Chris Rock, My Man. I Would Like to Thank Consequence and Busta Rhymes. And I Got to Tell You, Making A Comeback Is Scary as Hell. I Wouldn't Even Call It a Comeback, But Whatever It Is, It's So Much Better Not Coming Alone. So, Thank You to A Tribe Called Quest, Give It Up. I Love You, I Appreciate You. Good Night. (Cheers and applause)"
