Newton "Newt" Gingrich (born June 17, 1943) is an American politician, author and political consultant who represented Georgia's 6th congressional district as a Republican from 1979 until his resignation in 1999, served as the 58th Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives from 1995 to 1999 and was also a candidate for the 2012 Republican Party presidential nomination. Although he has never been on Saturday Night Live, he has been impersonated by Chris Farley from November 19, 1994 to March 18, 1995, by Darrell Hammond on November 18, 1995 during the "Air Force One" sketch, by Chris Parnell on November 14, 1998 during the "Opposites Attract" sketch and on January 9, 1999 during the "Mac's Bar" sketch, by Will Forte on April 15, 2006 during the "The O'Reilly Factor" sketch and currently by Bobby Moynihan.
