Justin Randall Timberlake (born January 31, 1981) is an American singer, songwriter, and actor. He is one of the world's best-selling music artists, with sales of over 88 million records. Timberlake is the recipient of numerous awards and accolades, including ten Grammy Awards, four Primetime Emmy Awards, three Brit Awards, nine Billboard Music Awards, the Contemporary Icon Award by the Songwriters Hall of Fame, and the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award. According to Billboard, he is the best performing male soloist in the history of the Mainstream Top 40.

Born and raised in Memphis, Tennessee, he appeared on TV shows as a child, he was being part of the Disney Channel television series The All-New Mickey Mouse Club from 1993-1995, before rising to prominence in the late 1990s as one of the two lead vocalists and youngest member of *NSYNC, which eventually became one of the best-selling boy bands of all time. Timberlake's debut solo album, Justified (2002), yielded his first solo hit singles, "Cry Me a River" and "Rock Your Body". His critically acclaimed second album, FutureSex/LoveSounds (2006), debuted atop the US Billboard 200 and spawned three consecutive Billboard Hot 100 number-one singles – "SexyBack", "My Love" and "What Goes Around... Comes Around". Established as a solo artist worldwide, his first two albums both exceeded sales of 10 million copies. Subsequently, Timberlake collaborated on a string of successful songs, including the viral hit "Dick in a Box", which became one of the most-viewed YouTube videos at the time,[3] and his fourth US number-one single, "Give It to Me".

From 2008 through 2012, Timberlake put his music career on hiatus and focused on his acting career, holding starring roles in the films The Love Guru (2008), The Social Network (2010), Bad Teacher (2011), Friends with Benefits (2011), and In Time (2011). He resumed his music career in 2013 with his third and fourth albums, The 20/20 Experience and The 20/20 Experience – 2 of 2; both albums topped the Billboard 200, with the former becoming the best-selling album of the year and spawning the top three singles "Suit & Tie" and "Mirrors". Timberlake voiced Branch in DreamWorks Animation's Trolls (2016), whose soundtrack included his fifth Hot 100 number-one single, "Can't Stop the Feeling!", which earned him an Academy Award nomination. His fifth studio album, Man of the Woods (2018), became his fourth number-one album in the US. Supported by two top ten singles, "Filthy" and "Say Something", it concluded 2018 as the sixth best-selling album of the year.[4]

He hosted Saturday Night Live five times (for dates, see infobox) and appeared as a musical guest once with *NSYNC, which was on March 11, 2000, where they performed "Bye, Bye, Bye" and "I Thought She Knew". He also appeared as both host and musical guest twice.

He made his first-time hosting and solo musical guest debut, as well as his 2nd musical guest stint on October 11, 2003, the second episode of Season 29, where he performed "Rock Your Body", "Senorita" and "Cry Me A River".

He returned to Saturday Night Live to hosting for the 2nd time and his 2nd solo musical guest appearance, as well as his 3rd musical guest stint on December 16, 2006, the ninth episode and Christmas show of Season 32, where he performed "My Love" and "What Goes Around... Comes Around".

He returned to Saturday Night Live to hosting for the 3rd time on May 9, 2009, the twenty-first and penultimate episode of Season 34, with musical guest Ciara.

He returned to Saturday Night Live again to hosting for the 4th time on May 21, 2011, the season finale of Season 36, with musical guest Lady Gaga, the pop sensation. He also sings about how he’s not going to sing on the tonight’s show in the opening monologue.

He returned to Saturday Night Live again to hosting for the 5th time, thus entering him into the Five-Timers Club, and he made his 4th musical guest stint, as well as his third solo musical guest appearance on SNL on March 9, 2013, the sixteenth episode of Season 38, where he performed "Suit & Tie" and "Mirrors". He has also made several cameos on the show (for dates, see infobox).

He returned to Saturday Night Live again for his 5th musical guest stint, as well as Timberlake’s 4th solo musical guest appearance on December 21, 2013, the tenth and Christmas episode of Season 39, hosted by longtime former cast member and Weekend Update anchor Jimmy Fallon, the host of the late-night talk show Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, and The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, where he performed "Only When I Walk Away" and "Pair of Wings".

He was also impersonated by Jimmy Fallon on the January 12, 2002 episode during the "HBO First Look" sketch and by Matt Damon on the October 5, 2002 episode during the "Angry Dance-Off" sketch. He was also impersonated by Andrew Garfield during the "Celebrity Family Feud" sketch on May 3, 2014, the nineteenth episode of Season 39.
