Jacob is a 13-year-old Jewish boy who was first introduced in a sketch featuring his bar mitzvah, which his father (played by Fred Armisen) had requested on turning into a star-studded extravaganza, despite Jacob's protests that a "modest luncheon" would have been fine.Jacob has more recently appeared on Weekend Update, where he told the stories of Hanukkah and Passover. He always gives the anchor some ointment prescribed by his father, before reading from a prepared speech with corny jokes; after each joke, he looks up at the audience with a grin (pictured). When anchor Seth Meyers tells him that he does not need to read from the script, or tries to engage him in dialogue, Jacob just grins and then resumes his speech. In one Weekend Update, his father reappears (played by Billy Crystal), acting exactly like his son.
