The 3rd episode of Season 42 and the 811th episode of Saturday Night Live premiered on October 15, 2016. It was hosted by British actress Emily Blunt, star of the hit films The Girl on the Train, A Quiet Place and its sequel A Quiet Place Part II, Wild Mountain Thyme, Oppenheimer, Pain Hustlers, The Fall Guy, and IF, Disney's hit musical fantasy and adventure films Mary Poppins Returns and Jungle Cruise, and the animated films Gnomeo and Juliet and its sequel Sherlock Gnomes, with musical guest Bruno Mars, who performed "24K Magic" and "Chunky". He also appeared as himself in the Drive-Thru Window sketch. Emily Blunt's hosting debut was made and this was also the 4th musical guest appearance for on SNL for Bruno Mars.
