Cheryl "Cher" Sarkisian (born May 20, 1946) is an American recording artist, television personality, actress, director, record producer and philanthropist who is often referred to as the "Goddess of Pop" and is best known for appearing on the CBS variety show The Sonny & Cher Comedy Hour with husband Sonny Bono from 1971 to 1974 and for her roles as Sissy in the 1982 film Come Back to the Five and Dime, Jimmy Dean, Jimmy Dean, Dolly Pelliker in the 1983 drama film Silkwood, Florence "Rusty" Dennis in the 1985 biographical drama film Mask, Loretta Castorini in the 1987 romantic comedy film Moonstruck and as Tess in the 2010 musical film Burlesque.

She appeared on Saturday Night Live as a musical guest on November 21, 1987 where she performed "We All Sleep Alone" and "I Found Someone" and made a cameo on September 26, 1992 during the Weekend Update segment.

She was also impersonated by Christina Applegate on the May 8, 1993 episode during the "Focus On Beauty II" sketch, by Sarah Silverman on the March 19, 1994 episode during the "Rockers To Help Explain Whitewater" sketch, by Drew Barrymore on the March 20, 1999 episode during the "Academy Awards Pre-Show" sketch, by Blake Lively on the December 5, 2009 episode during the "Late Night With Chris Hansen" sketch and by Bill Hader on the January 15, 2011 episode during the Weekend Update segment.
