The second episode of NBC's Saturday Night was hosted by Paul Simon, with guests Randy Newman and Phoebe Snow, and special guest Art Garfunkel. This episode was almost entirely music, with only four sketches: a fake commercial for wallpaper, Weekend Update, Jim Henson's Muppets, and Paul Simon telling the cast that a bee sketch has been cut. As a result of the format, Chevy Chase is the only cast member to have any significant airtime.
George Coe and Michael O'Donoghue were dropped from the cast list for this episode. Coe would remain uncredited, and O'Donoghue would be readded for the following show.
