  • This was the last episode Michael O'Donoghue was credited as a performer in. Though, as the show's original head writer, he would continue to write for the show through the season, and make several appearances throughout the show, and would remain as head writer until his departure from the show in 1978.
  • This was the first episode that the cast members join the host onstage for the goodbyes.
  • Not only Candice Bergen was the first woman host, but the first person to host twice.
