Adrien Brody

From Saturday Night Live Wiki

Adrien Brody is an Oscar winner for his role in The Pianist. To promote this movie, Adrien guest-hosted SNL on May/10/2003, but has never returned to host again. See below for a reason.

[edit] Banned!

On May/10/2003, Adrien hosted SNL. All was going smoothly, until Adrien was supposed to introduce Jamaican performer Sean Paul and Wayne Wonder as Musical Guests for the second song of the night. Adrien, instead, dressed in traditional Rastafarian attire, speaking in a Jamaican accent and went on a "tirade" for almost 45 seconds. He then misintroduced Sean Paul (as "Sean John").

Lorne Michaels is notorious for his dislike of improvisation and unannounced performances, and was furious, since this move had not been planned with any of the writers, producer, or Lorne himself. Brody was banned by the end of the night for not obtaining clearance before performing this "monologue."
